An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police, Dronacharya Sahu, of the Rengali police station in the district was suspended on Wednesday for allegedly abusing and beating a woman inside the police station. Sambalpur SP Sanjeev Arora suspended Sahu for his misconduct and ordered an investigation into the incident that has gone viral in the social media. He has asked Additional SP PK Mohapatra to investigate the matter.
The SP took the action as per a prior investigation report. Accoring to reports, Sahu slapped the woman, who had came to the police station to lodge a complaint, on her face twice after indulging in argument with her.
