Reminders to Chhattisgarh, CWC for Mahanadi info

Published on:

The State Government on Tuesday sent reminders to the Chhattisgarh Government and the Central Water Commission (CWC) reminding them to share information on the ongoing projects being constructed upstream of the Mahanadi without taking the former into confidence.

The Government sent the reminders as the 15-day deadline as sought by both the Chhattisgarh Government and the CWC ended last week.

“Chhattisgarh Government had promised to share all information about ongoing projects upstream Mahanadi within 15 days during the joint meeting called by the Centre at New Delhi on July 29 to resolve the dispute between the two States over the river, but it is yet to do so. Therefore, we have sent reminders to the CWC and Chhattisgarh Government yesterday,” Chief Secretary AP Padhi told reporters here on Wednesday.

On the other hand, the BJD fact-finding team that had visited Chhattisgarh would submit its interim report to party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik within next seven days, said Minister Debi Prasad Mishra, one of the fact-finding team members.
