A tripartite meeting was held at Additional District Magistrate’s (ADM) office here among Reliance Synthetics Khyatigrastha Shramik Sangha members, Reliance Industries management officials and the ADM over demands of the workers in the synthetic plant in Dhenkanal district.

later, a mass suicide programme in front of Navin Niwas by 295 workers was put on hold.

Debashisha Hota led a 15-member delegation of the Sangh to the meeting where ADM Judhistir Dehury presided.

Notably, Reliance hasn’t paid any compensation to 295 workers of its plant at Dhenkanal though it has decided to shut down the unit by shifting the machineries. The workers had threatened to commit suicide at Navin Niwas unless their grievances were sorted out.

The District Administration called the meeting by giving notice to the Reliance Industries limited vice president Kartik Mehta and workers’ leader Hota.

Among others, the meeting was also attended by SDPO Rajakishore Dora, Dhenkanal Sub Collector Atulya Champatiray, DlO Pradip Mohanty and AlO Narendra Jaipai.
