Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday urged the Union Government for immediate release of full amounts the Backward Region Grant Funds (BRGF) for Ganjam and Mayurbhanj districts for 2013-14 without delay in view of the large-scale damages due to the recent cyclone and floods.
Stating that Ganjam and Mayurbhanj have been severely affected by the natural calamities, Patnaik, in a letter to Union Panchayati Raj Minister V Kishore Chandra Deo said that in particular, the power and communication infrastructure in the two districts have suffered heavy damages.
