Regularise outsourced employees: HMS

Published on:

While welcoming the State Government’s decision to regularise around 57,000 contractual employees, the Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS) has demanded regularisation of all employees working under the outsourcing scheme in the Government.

In a Press release, HMS vice-president Rabi Rath has alleged that about two and a half lakh outsourced employees are working in various departments of the State Government under exploitative conditions such as absence of job security, non-availability of ESI and EPF benefits and loss of wages and so on. These employees also lose jobs when the Government changes a contractor. As much as 18% is deducted from their meagre wage under the GST.

While the Ministers and senior officers of the Government are earning big salaries, the lower employees should get a minimum Rs 25,000 per month, Rath demanded and requested the Chief Minister to look into the matter.
