Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) lifetime member Dillip Dashsharma on Friday demanded action against officials of the IRCS, Odisha Branch responsible for figuring of Red Criscent and Red Cristal emblems of a platform in the branch premises here.
“In India, the emblem of Red Cross can be used only. But, a platform on which a statue of the Red Cross founder was unveiled in the hands of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik recently has two emblems, Red Crescent and Red Cristal, which meant for Muslim and Israel and Palestine countries, respectively. Hence, those responsible for putting the restricted emblems must be punished,” demanded Dashsharma in a statement.
He said the IRCS has, in response to an RTI application, confirmed use of Red Cross emblem in India only and restriction of the other two emblems. He also demanded that the two emblems should be removed soon.
