Early morning at 5 am on Wednesday, thousands of red crabs were witnessed crawling on the beach of the Chilika lake. Two days ago, a similar phenomenon had taken place in the Chandrabhaga beach in Puri district where thousands of red crabs were seen crawling around.
Thousands of red crabs were spotted in the natural estuarine of Nada and Biluamari villages for more than an hour.
The red crabs were seen feasting on dead turtles for almost an hour before returning into the sea.
