A whopping 156 Covid-19 cases were detected on Monday, the highest single-day jump till date, taking the State’s total tally to 2,104.
Out of the new cases, Kendraparda district registered the highest 50 cases while Cuttack district reported 20 cases followed by Ganjam 17, Jagatsinghpur 14, Jajpur 11, Kandhamal nine and Bhadrak seven.
Three cases each were detected in Khordha, Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Nuapada, Mayurbhanj, Bargarh and Subarnapur districts, two cases each from Balangir, Sambalpur and one case each from Boudh, Keonjhar and Malkangiri districts.
With this, the total number of active cases in the State rose to 969 while recoveries stood at 1,126 and seven deaths so far, the Health and Family Welfare Department said.
However, as many as 119 patients recovered from the disease on Monday, taking the total recoveries to 1,245.
The highest 60 recovered in Jajpur district, 13 in Cuttack, 12 in Kendrapada, nine in Gajapati, six in Nayagarh, five in Sundargarh, three each in Baleswar, Puri and Khordha, two each in Ganjam and Balangir and one in Sambalpur.
