The Examination Committee of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha on Tuesday endorsed the State Government’s decision to hold the matriculation (Class X) examination-2016 from February 22 to March 4 next.

BSE President Dakhya Prasad Nanda announced the decision, stating that more than six lakh students, a record number, have filled up their application forms online to appear at the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations.

“The online form fill-up that was introduced for the first time this year went up very smoothly,” Nanda informed, saying that if there are any mistakes in the forms they could be corrected as the BSE website would be hoisting them till November 30.

Nanda further informed that the Examination Committee has approved a proposal to hike the remunerations of the examination invigilators and paper evaluators as there was a constant demand to revise the remunerations to benefit the teachers.

He further informed that the Government has opened a State Institute of Open School (SIOS) and entrusted the BSE to hold examinations regularly for the school dropouts wishing to be matriculates by clearing the examination.

“Over 3,200 students have enrolled with the SIOS, and we are going to hold matriculation examinations for them soon,” Nanda added.
