Rebels hell-bent on Niranjan as PCC chief

Published on:

Dissident Congress leaders in the State have grown more rebellious with Sundargarh MlA Jogesh Singh on Sunday openly stating that they would not budge from their demand for Niranjan Patnaik replacing PCC president Prasad Harichandan.

Singh said he along with some other MlAs have already told AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi about their firm view.

The rebels hardened their stand following a reported move in New Delhi to make Bhakta Charan Das the State party chief.

The dissidents’ camp is powerful as all the 16 MlAs of the party headed by leader of the Opposition Narasingha Mishra are one in demanding an immediate change in the PCC leadership.
