The State Election Commission (SEC) on Friday issued a notification for fresh polling in 15 booths of Pokharigaon panchayat of Niali block in Cuttack district. The polling will be held on March 6.
This is the third time, notifications has been issued for polling as on earlier two occasions, the commission was forced to cancel the three- tier panchayat elections due to violence.
The voting could not take place twice due to rampant violence. There have been number of incident of clashes between activists of different political parties, bombings and booth capturing in the area. A BJD leader was also killed in the violence.
