Southern Division RDC T Aapang AO has been put in charge as the Berhampur University’s interim Vice-Chancellor. He would hold the post till a new VC is appointed.
The university has received a communication from the Chancellor’s office in this regard on Wednesday. This has led to rest all speculations about the appointment of VC temporarily.
The tenure of the incumbent VC Prof Rajendra Prasad Das ended on Friday. According to the university rules the new VC is appointed by the Chancellor before the incumbent VC’s tenure concludes. But in the current year there has been slight delay. Earlier speculations were rife that the Khallikote Cluster University VC would be given charge.
As the RDC is directly involved in the affairs of the Brahmapur University, he was given charge. It is hoped that with the RDCs appoint the administrative affairs of the university would be streamlined and there would be a brake on the irregularities that rocked the institution in the last three years.
