As per the decisions taken at a joint meeting of the General Council of Section Officers of all Heads of Departments and Ministerial Employees’ Association, Odisha, the Section Officers, Establishment Officers and other ministerial employees of the local RDC office went on mass casual leave from Friday in protest against non-fulfilment of their 10-point charter of demands by the Government.
The officers and ministerial employees of different Heads of Departments (HoDs), as a token of their protest, may wear black badges since last Tuesday. Since their repeated pleas before authorities for fulfilment of their outstanding demands remain unheeded, said Staff Committee president and general secretary Rabinarayan Sutar and Antaryami Dalai, respectively.
On Friday, a demonstration was staged before the RDC office by chanting slogans against the anti-employee stand of the Government. Among others, Staff Committee vice-president Arati Panda, Ashoak Kumar Jena, Dipak Kumar Parida, Bhagbat Chandra Das, Bhasal Majhi, Sanjay Kumar Mallick, Raj Kishore Pattnaik and Anil Kumar Das addressed the employees and led the agitation.
