A day after the State Government announced an administrative probe into the death of a person in police firing in Chandpur in Nayagarh district, the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) Central Division Suresh Kumar Vashishta on Saturday started his probe to unearth the reason behind the firing.
Meanwhile, a 15-member team of the Crime Branch on Saturday also started probe into the murder of four members of a family at Shastrinagar under the Chandpur outpost because of which locals had protested outside the police outpost on Thursday leading to firing by the police.
On Saturday morning the team led by a DSP-level officer visited the house where the miscreants had killed four members of the family and held discussion with family members.
