The MBA students of the Regional College of Management (RCM) here continued their indefinite hunger strike for the fifteenth day on Tuesday demanding issue of final degree certificates in favour of pass-out students.

A delegation of students went to meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at his residence on Tuesday, but they could not meet him. Thus they were referred to Secretary to CM. later the team visited the residence of Secretary to Governor Parag Gupta to tell their problem.

The two senior officers get surprised after hearing the certificate issue of the students. They discussed the matter with the students and promised to look into it.

MBA student Ankita Sharma said they demand the RCM to withdraw the case against the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) so that the university authorities will accept all the students since 2009 till date as registered ones. They will continue the strike till their demands are fulfilled, she added.

“As usual the management is testing the patience level of the students and playing with the life of the students who are on hunger strike,” said a MBA student, adding, “We are waiting for the result of meeting between the RCM director and the BPUT vice chancellor.”

Notably, due to a dispute over its admission into MBA course, the institute has not been able to get certificates from the BPUT since 2009 and, hence, has failed to provide them to the pass-out students.
