MBA and MCA students of the Regional College of Management (RCM) on Wednesday met Governor SC Jamir and urged his intervention so that final degree certificates are issued in favour of the pass-out students.
Around two hundred students came in a procession that started from the RCM College to the Governor’s House and staged a rally in front of the Raj Bhavan protesting against the callousness of the college management in delivering their certificates.
A three-member delegation of the students went to the Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum to the Governor. “The Governor has given us assurance that he will look into the matter and a positive outcome will come out within seven days,” said a student, Raza Quadir.
Earlier, the students had staged two rallies near the Raj Bhavan and the State Assembly demanding issue of certificates for them.Notably, due to a dispute over its admission into MBA course, the RCM has not been able to get certificates from the BPUT (Biju Patnaik University of Technology) since 2009 and, hence, has failed to provide them to the pass-out students. The students’ stir entered the 58th day on Wednesday.
