In a shocking incident, a former student of the Ravenshaw University here on Monday alleged torture by senior students. The video of the youth allegedly being ragged and thrashed at the lalitgiri Hostel premises in the university went viral on the social media.
The victim, a former student of junior college, had come to the university to check the Geography Department’s merit list when a group of seniors allegedly dragged him to the hostel and tortured him as is clearly shows in the video footage.
In the video, nearly seven to eight students forced the victim to kneel down and rained blows on him and kicked him.
“The same group had also ragged and assaulted me when I was studying Plus Two in the junior college in 2015. Basing on my complaint, action had been taken against them. They might be holding a grudge for that and assaulted me today,” said the victim.
