The Ravenshaw Bikash Abhiyan and the Ravenshaw Chhatra Kriyanusthan Committee would hold a mass demonstration named “Ravenshaw Bachao Convention” at the Sharala Bhawan here on June 9 to decide their courses of action against the rise in course fees and creation of more numbers of self-financing courses “arbitrarily” by the Ravenshaw University authorities.
The Chhatra Kriyanushtan Committee has been holding street corner meetings since June 5 to create awareness among denizens of the city about the “anti-student” decisions of the Ravenshaw University authorities.
By now, it has held meetings at 15 places in the city, including Ranihat, Mahangalabag, Badambadi, Dolamundai, Buxibazaar and Tinikonia Bazaar, to gather support of the Cuttack residents. Many noted persons like social worker Chittaranjan Mohanty, Gandhian leader Prashant Das, Er Kshirod Mohapatra, Jugalkishore Nayak, journalist Satya Ray, Binapani Das, lawyer Prasahan panda, Sukant Nayak, Dali Das and Kamiluddin Ahamad attended the meeting at the College Square, informed Abhiyan’s Khagswar Sethi.
Youth and student leaders like Priyadarshan Pavel, Siddhartha Ratha, Bhagyarabi Das, Tarun Sen Nayak, Isha Dhar, Shubhasmita Sahoo, Binod Sethi and Ranjan Samal were present.
