Ratha Yatra was celebrated at Shrivani Kshetra of KISS on Wednesday amid religious fervour and gaiety.
More than 20,000 devotees thronged to witness the festival. Three decorated chariots of lord Jagannath, lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, festooned with flowers, appliqué and mural paintings, were pulled by devotees.
Rituals like Mangala Arati, Mailama, Tadapalagi, Rosha Homa, Abakasha and Surya Puja were conducted before deities were taken Pahandis from sanctum sanctorum to the chariots
KIIT Temple Trust founder Achyuta Samanta performed the holy ritual of Chhera Pahnara on the chariots before they were pulled.
The special feature of the Ghosa Yatra here is that Devadalan, the chariot of Goddess Subhadra, is pulled only by females.
