Prof Arundhati Rath assumed office of the Brahmapur University PG Council Chairperson here on Saturday. She replaced Prof Devi Prasanna Pattnaik, who retired on May 31. Prior to her new assignment, Rath held important positions in the university such as Head of the Department of Home Science and Director of College Development Council. She told mediapersons that imparting quality education would be her priority.
Besides, university has appointed 15 new Faculty Members to Head various Post-Graduate Teaching Departments.
They include Dr Bamakanta Gadnayak (Department of Chemistry), Prof MR Patra (Computer Science), Dr DC Panda (Electronics Science), Dr Sadananda Nayak ( History), Dr Harapriya Samantray (Home Science) Prof BB Mapatra (IRPM Department), Prof Bhagirathi Panigrahi (Law), Dr Smita Sinha (Linguistics), Dr Sadananda Nayak (Odia), Prof Sukant Tripathy (Physics), Dr Prasanna Kumar Dikshit (Life Sciences/Zoology), Dr A Lilaveni (Botany), Dr Dasarath Bhuyan (Journalism and Mass Comm-unication), Dr Padmanabha Samant (Mathematics) and Dr Rajesh Sethi as Coordinator of the PG Department of Political Science.
