Odisha’s Rashmita Minz has been added in the 18-member team of the Indian Women’s Hockey for 9th Women’s Asia Cup 2017 scheduled to be held at Kakamigahara in Japan from October 28 to November 5.
Earlier, four others from the State had been selected for the upcoming hockey event which includes Deep Grace Ekka, Sunita lakra, Namita Toppo and lilima Minz.
Minz has got the opportunity after Suman Devi Thoudam, who was in the team as defender, suddenly fell sick. Selectors had kept Rashmita on standby while announcing the squad for Asia Cup.
The Indian Women’s team led by Rani Ramphal will face Singapore, China and Malaysia in pool A. India will take on Singapore on opening day in the competition.
