Oram honoured the ace sprinter in New Delhi on Thursday her with a scarf and presented her Rasagola for her success in getting into the Olympics. Dutee said, “There is no end to dreams. Aspirations of human beings keep increasing with each passing day. After getting a number of successes in my career, now I am dreaming to bag a medal in the Rio Olympics for my State and country.”

The Odia girl, who qualified for the Olympics in the 100-meter dash and the 4X400 relay with a stupendous performance in Almaty, Kazakhstan, said, “.I had to work really hard to get the Olympics ticket. I used to practise from 6 am to 9 am, 11 am to 12 noon and again from 4 pm to 6 pm every day.”

“This success is an outcome of 14-year of hardship and toil,” Dutee added.

When asked about what assurance she got from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dutee said, “I could not meet Narendra Modi as I was busy with my competitions which were going on in Kazakhstan. I will meet him soon.”

Notably, on June 25, Dutee qualified for Olympics to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from August 5 to 21 after covering 100 metre in 11.30 seconds in a race held in Kazakhstan. Besides, she will also represent the Indian 4x100m women’s relay team at the Olympics with another Odia girl, Srabani Nanda.
