More than a 10-feet-long albino spectacled cobra, one of the rarest of its kind, was rescued by a local snake helpline member from the house of one Hrudananda Mallick in Rajkanika village under Kendrapada district on Sunday.
The family members of Mallick unearthed the rarest kind of snake from their house and being panicked gave a call to the local snake rescuer to rescue the viper.
Snake rescuer Tapan Kumar Jena rushed to the spot and rescued the viper but failed to identify the species due to its abnormal colour and size. Later, snake helpline member, Nalini Prasad Das ,after getting information, rushed to the spot and identified the reptile as an albino spectacled cobra.
