POCSO Court Special Judge Susant Patel on Thursday convicted one Purnajibita Digal and sentenced him to undergo fifteen years’ imprisonment for raping a minor girl on April 28, 2015. He was also asked to a pay fine of Rs 20,000 and, in default of payment of the fine, to undergo two more years of imprisonment.
Digal had raped the girl while she with her family members had gone to attend his elder brother’s marriage function at Dimiriguda under the Phiringia police station in Kandhamal district. He lured the girl with a promise to give her some gift and committed the rape.
