In connection with the rape of a minor during her stay in distress homes, the Sahadevkhunta Police on Sunday arrested Binod Nayak (60), former director of Santana Sudhar Gruha, while the Nilgiri police arrested a 26-year-old woman Mama, a mother caretaker of the stay home of Bapuju Seva Sadan at Chandipur, Nilgiri.
However, the prime accused of a distress home, Goura Khamari, is at large. In the meantime, the Sahadvkhunta police besides getting the statement of the victim recorded under Section 164 CrPC also carried out her medical examinations.
The police are also thinking to bring the then CWC members and the Child Protection Officer under the investigation purview as the police suspect that they knew about the sexual assault on the victim.
