Indian Information Service (IIS) officer of 1991-batch Ranjana Dev Sharma assumed office as Additional Director General, Odisha Prabhari, here on Monday.
Sharma formally joined at the Press Information Bureau (PIB) office here. She had started her career at the News Section of the Doordarshan, New Delhi. During the last 27 years, she has successfully served as Editor of the Employment News, Special Officer at the I and B Ministry, Deputy Secretary at the Union Agriculture Ministry, Director of the Directorate of Field Publicity, Director of the EMMC, Director and Additional Director General of the PIB, New Delhi.
During her service, Sharma studied in prestigious institutions like the International Sevening Scholarship for Broadcasting Journalism of the Britain Government and Duke University, Harvard University and California University of America.
Apart from the Additional Director General (Odisha Field Prabhari) post, she would also discharge responsibility as Additional Press Registrar, RNI (Odisha).
As per the direction of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Sharma would take overall responsibility of promotion and publication of policies, projects and welfare programmes of the Union Government in Odisha. Directorate of Field Publicity, Odisha Field, DAVP, Songs and Drama department and RNI would function under her.
