The State Government on Wednesday effected a minor reshuffle in the IAS level as four officers of the cadre have been sent on Central deputation.1986-batch IAS officer GVV Sarma, who is now Principal Secretary of GA Department and Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), has been given the charge of Managing Director of the Odisha State Disaster Management Agency (OSDMA) and additional charge of Administrative Reforms Department.1988-batch officer CJ Venugopal has been appointed as the Principal Secretary to Odisha Governor as the present Principal Secretary Parag Gupta is leaving for Central deputation. Gupta is likely to join as Joint Secretary of the Food Processing Industries Department of the Union Government. Venugopal has also been given additional charge of the Science and Technology Department.
Similarly, 1991-batch officer Vijay Arora has been named as the Secretary, Public Enterprises Department. 1994-batch officer Ranjana Chopra, who returned from Central deputation, was appointed as the new Secretary of the School & Mass Education Department. Incumbent Secretary 1996-batch officer Usha Padhee has been sent on Central deputation and she is likely to join as Joint Secretary, Civil Aviation.Though 1996-batch officer Arvind Kumar Padhee is leaving for Centre as Joint Secretary, Fertilisers, no one has been posted in his place as Secretary, Tourism and Culture Department. From this, it seems that Padhee may continue with his present office till completion of the Nabakalebar Rath Yatra.
