A Forest Ranger in Balangir district came under Vigilance scanner over unaccounted wealth on Thursday.
Four Vigilance teams of Balangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur and Bargarh divisions conducted simultaneous raids on houses and the office of Muribahal Ranger Prashant Nayak at three different places in Titilagarh on the charge of accumulating wealth disproportionate to unknown sources of his income.
The Vigilance officials raided Nayak’s residence at Hatapada in Titilagarh, his office at Muribahal and a farmhouse near Belpadar. The raids were carried out by around 25 officials.
Till the last report came in, the searches were underway.
Source said that Nayak was posted at the Bangomunda Forest Range prior to his joining at Muribahal.
The Vigilance raided his residences and office suspecting his connection with tainted IFS officer Abhay Kant Pathak, who has been arrested on DA charge.
