Amidst criticism by opposition parties Congress and BJP over an MGNREGA job card allegedly issued to Nabarangpur BJD MlA Manohar Randhari’s wife, the MlA has strongly refuted the charge.
Addressing a Press conference here on Sunday, Randhari said, “She (his wife) had never applied for any job card. There is no job card issued in her name. We have not received any deposit amount at the given account number.”
He said that a fake Facebook account was opened in his same, and he would move law court against false allegations.
Notably, Randhari landed in controversy after Congress District Tribal Cell president Akhila Bhatara accused the MlA’s wife Urmila Randhari of getting benefits under the MGNREGA scheme.
Bhatara alleged that Urmila Randhari had received the wage amount under the MGNREGA at Bhatigaon.
The MlA’s father and wife were issued the job cards as beneficiaries under the Centrally-sponsored scheme and got benefits even though the MlA’s wife is a Government employee, it was alleged.
