Senior Congress leader and INTUC State president Dr Rama Chandra Khuntia has been appointed as a general secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC).
AICC president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi elevated Khuntia from secretary to general secretary post on Monday in view of his outstanding performances as an MlA, an MP and a true leader. Many well-wishers from across the State have conveyed greetings to Khuntia for his new appointment.
Khuntia has been made Telangana-in-charge of the AICC and former Karnataka Minister Satish Jharkhiloli would assist him as his deputy.
Among others, Rashtriya Mazdoor Congress’ Kishore Jena, Madan Mohan Dasl, Sandhyarani Mohapatra, Banalata Mishra, Akshaya Tripathy, Shyamsundar Mohapatra, Satyabrat Nayak, Pranati Mishra, Padmakar Guru, Rajiv Mohanty, Rajaram Parida, Binapani Samal, Sukumar Deo, Jayakrushna Malia and Bijay Dwibedi have congratulated Khuntia.
