The Forum for Ganjam is all set organise a massive rally on Friday to press its demand for Smart City tag to Brahmapur.
To make the rally a success, two awareness vehicles (Sachetanata raths) were flagged off by two eminent educationists, Prof DC Sahu and PK Sahu in the city. The raths would visit the city appealing to the people to participate on Friday’s rally in a massive way thereby making it a success one.
The proposed rally would begin from 4 pm near the Geeta Bhavan, Giri Road. later, a memorandum would be submitted to the Chief Minister and Prime Minister through the RDC (Southern range).
It may be noted that the Central Government has allotted two smart cities for Odisha. Brhamapur is one of the five contenders. “Brahmapur has to be earmarked as a Smart City,” said Forum coordinator Sudhir Raut.
