Hailing the CBI’s impartial probe by arresting many influential persons in the mega chit fund scam in the State, a large number of right activists belonging to 28 civil society groups on Friday staged a rally here at Master Canteen Square demanding a similar CBI probe into the mining and land scams in the State.
They condemned the protests being carried out by some people against the CBI’s act of arresting former Advocate General Asok Monahty. “While the CBI is in right process of inquiry, a well-prepared conspiracy like protest and cease-work agitation has been hatched to pressure the Central investigating agency from arresting other influential persons involved in the chit fund scam,” said OSAA State convenor Pradip Pradhan.
