Vigilance sleuths of Cuttack on Tuesday trapped BDO of Rajkanaika block Ramesh Chandra Behera red-handed while he was taking bribe of Rs5,000 from the sarpanch of Siopada for forwarding a work file to the Block JE for the work’s measurement.
According to DSP of Vigilance, Cuttack, Aditya Narayan Pratihary, the BDO had earlier demanded Rs5,000 from Sarpanch Arun Kumar Das. The sarpanch brought the matter to the knowledge of SP of Vigilance, Cuttack, in this regard.
On Tuesday, while the BDO was caught when he was taking the bribe and the bribe money was seized from his office drawer.
Meanwhile, another Vigilance team conducted raid the BDO’s house located at Sector-9 of Cuttack, informed the DSP of Vigilance, Cuttack.
