Jamir said the Rajiv Gandhi was a visionary leader who wanted to see India as a superpower in the world by using its youth mass. He was always thinking about development of the poor Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe people and the youths.
Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Jayadev Jena said Rajiv Gandhi had awakened countrymen with his slogan Mera Bharat Mahan. His contribution to the field of communication and IT was incredible, he added.
On the occasion, 22nd rank holder in IES examination Deepak Kumar Das and 52 meritorious students of the Utkal and Ravenshaw Universities were awarded. Among others, former PCC president Sarat Pattnaik, former Utkal University Vice-Chancellor Prof Binayak Rath and ORGSF State president Satyabrata Nayak were present.
