Rajdhani Express amenities below par

Published on:

Sir,

I was travelling New Delhi – Bhubaneswar bound Rajdhani Express (train No. 22812) in B-2 compartment along with family and faced an uncomfortable situation with regard to sanitation and catering service.

Some of my observations are as follows 1. Catering staff keep their food items near the toilet doors for easy serving to the passengers, which is highly unhygienic. Passengers are not able to go to toilet as passage is narrow. One side entry door was closed from inside which is against the safety norms.

2.      All toilets are damped and not properly ventilated. Since my eight hours staying in the compartment, the condition of the toilets remained unchanged. Window glasses were not clean either.

3.      It is needless to say that breakfast and lunch were proportionately substandard compared to the price charged. I had taken a veg meal which was tasteless. In present days, when fares of Rajdhani Express and Satabdi Express keep varying, passenger’s comforts remain in a state of compromise. The Ministry of Railways ought to take the feedback and start reform as quick as possible in the interest of the public.
