The Additional Sessions Judge Court-I here on Friday granted conditional bail to gangster Sandeep alias Raja Acharya in the case of threatening the brother of an Ollywood actress at gunpoint.
The court granted the bail on a surety of Rs 30,000 and two bailers to Raja. He had allegedly issued threats to Ollywood actress Bidusmita’s brother Arun Mantri at gunpoint and kidnapped him.
Earlier, the gangster had obtained bail from the Supreme Court in the murder case of judo coach Biranchi Das. But he was not released from the jail as other cases are still pending against him in the city courts, including threatening an employee of city-based Jyoti Motors at gunpoint to pay extortion money. Presently, he is cooling his heels at the Jharpada Special Jail here.
