Over 1,000 Congress workers here led by DCC president Ananta Sayan Padhi staged a demonstration at the Collectorate on Wednesday. They demanded CBI probe into the fraudulent activities of the non banking financial companies, disclosure of the names of the Ministers and MlAs involved in the scam and criminal proceedings against them, besides immediate raising of funds by the State Government to return the depositors their hard earned money by attachment and auction of the ill gotten properties of the chit fund entities.
They gave a memorandum to the Governor through the District Collector. Among others, PCC vice president Kishor Patel, Bargarh MlA Sadhu Charan Nepak, Bijepur MlA Subal Sahu, Attabira MlA Nihar Mohanand, former Minister PC Debta, Sushanta Mishra and Nipan Das were present.
