The Regional Office of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Thursday informed that the cyclonic circulation over east-central Bay of Bengal has intensified and is likely to turn into a low pressure within the next 48 hours.
Under its influence, heavy to very heavy rainfalls are likely to occur in coastal and interior Odisha on October 6 and 7 and heavy rainfall in interior Odisha on October 8 and 9, the IMD forecasted.
Besides, rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over the State till October 9, it added.
Strong and gusty surface winds speed reaching 35 to 45 kmph are likely to prevail along and off the Odisha coast, for which fishermen have been advised to be cautious while venturing into the sea.
