The depression formed over southwest Bay of Bengal off Chennai coast, which was likely to cross Tamil Nadu during Thursday evening, may not have much impact on Odisha.
Though no warning has been issued for Odisha, several places in coastal, south coastal and southern parts of the State may receive light to moderate rainfall during next 24 hours., said the Regional Office of the IMD here on Thursday. Light to moderate rain in a few places over the districts of Ganjam, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput and one or two places over the district of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Puri is likely on Friday. Similarly, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal and at one or two places over the district of Nuapada, Balangir, Subarnapur, Boudh, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Cuttack, Kendrapara ,Jagatsinghpur, Puri and Khordha on Saturday, said the IMD.
Moderate rainfall is forecast for several places over the districts of south and coastal Odisha till November 16.
