Rains and thundershowers would continue across the State while extremely heavy rainfall would occur at one or two places in certain parts of North Odisha during the next 24 hours, said the local Met Centre on Thursday.
Heavy rainfall would also occur at one or two places in south Odisha during this period and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 45-55 kmph, gusting to 65 kmph, may prevail along and off Odisha Coast, it added. The Met Centre said that a low pressure area may form over north-west Bay of Bengal and it neighbourhood during the next 24 hours under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood. Fishermen have been warned against venturing into the sea.
