Rain floods hospital in Angul

Published on:

A brief spell of rain on Saturday left the Pallahara hospital in Angul district in ankle-dip water, leaving patients and staffs in distress.

The rainwater along with water from the nearby drains ran under the patients' beds.

Though the hospital is affected by waterlogging during rainy season every year, the authorities have failed to solve the problem, alleged locals.

"This being the situation after a mere shower, we cannot even think of what the scene would be like in the days to come," said an attendant of a patient. While it is alleged that flaws in the construction of the hospital building have resulted in poor drainage of water, the Pallahara Sub-Collector declined to comment on the issue.
