Railway reservation counter delayed in Subarnapur

Despite assurances, a railway ticket reservation counter at Dunguripali post office is yet to become operational.

Recently, social organisation, Helping Under Mass (HUM), approached Balangir MP Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo to open a reservation counter and the latter wrote a letter to Central Telecommunication Minister Manoj Sinha in this regard.

Notably, people of Dunguripali are facing problems due to lack of reservation counter at the railway station, which is the only railway station in the district.

Sources said earlier members of HUM had discussed with the Sambalpur DRM in the matter and the DRM had told them that a reservation counter would be opened immediately in the post office. The HUM members had submitted a memorandum to Balangir Postal Superintendent, regarding the matter also.

later some official correspondences had taken place between the Railway department and the Postal department, but subsequently, there was no headway.
