Submit memo to PM, CM, Union Mins

The land losers of the Haridaspur-Paradip railway project under the fold of Jajpur-Kendrapada Milita Krushak Manch recently sent a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to order a fresh fixation of land price.

The land losers of Jajpur and Kendrapada districts alleged that  while the land losers of  neighbouring Jagatsinghpur district  received Rs 18 to Rs 25 lakh for an acre of land  for the  Haridaspur-Paradip project , the land losers of Kendrapada and Jajpur have got only Rs 5 lakh per acre.

“This is unjust. We demand that at least Rs 20 lakh per acre of land be paid,” said a few land losers.

They also submitted memoranda to the Union Railways Minister DV Sadananda Gauda, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Ministers Jual Oram and Dharmendra Pradhan.

Notably, the land acquisition for the rail project was made in 84 revenue villages, including nine villages under Jagatsinghpur, 46 villages under Kendrapada and 29 villages under Jajpur district, said Jajpur-Kendrapada Milita Krushak Manch vice-president Rabindra Rout.
