Works Department Secretary Suvendu Rai has assured to take immediate steps for construction of flyovers at two railway crossings in Jajpur. A delegation under leadership of Jajpur MP Mohan Jena had met him and placed the demand before him at the State Secretariat on Sunday.
Jena had brought the attention of the Works department to the difficulties faced by the commuters and vehicles at Chatia-Kalakalaa and Badachana-Darpana roads connecting to the Bari railway station.
Hundreds of loaded trucks from different industries, factories and stone mines are getting stranded for long hours due to level crossings in the two roads and heavy rush of railway traffic on the rail lines.
Besides, he had also brought to the notice of the authorities the rough conditions of the roads. Jena had told that the roads are neither repaired by the SE Railways nor by the Works department. The delegation also had demanded for a special road for halting of heavy vehicles.
