In response to a call of the All India Railway Engineers’ Federation (AIREF), Railway engineers under the banner of the East Coast Railway Engineers’ Association (ECoREA) will stage a mass agitation in front of the ECoR headquarters office here on December 18 to protest against the delay in fulfilment of their long-pending demands.
A decision to this effect was taken at the 14th Zonal Executive Committee meeting of the ECoREA held at Khurda Road on Sunday. All junior and senior section engineers from the ECoR’s all three divisions including Khurda Road, Sambalpur and Visakhapatnam, Mancheswar Workshop and Headquarters will join the agitation.
Besides, executive members from the three divisions, Mancheswar and Bhubaneswar showed their dissatisfaction over the negligence of two railway labour federations for not recommending higher salary in their memorandums submitted to the 7th Central Pay Commission, recently. ECoREA general secretary Bobin Mohanty conducted the meeting.
