Hundreds of locals held a rail roko on the Khorda-Balangir route at Bolagarh Road railway station demanding renaming of the station.

The villagers under the banner of the Manikagoda Vikas Parishad stopped a passenger train and squatted in front of it shouting slogans.

The agitators demanded that the station be renamed as Manikagoda railway station and threatened that they would intensify their agitation in coming days if their demand is not met soon.

“We have been demanding renaming of the station for long. We have also written to the railway and district officials in this regard, but in vain,” said an agitator.

later, the protesters withdrew the stir after Bolagarh Station Manager assured them to take up the matter with the higher authorities soon.
