The State Government has placed Chinmay Sagar, former Additional Tehsildar of Jharigaon tehsil in Nabarangpur district, under suspension in connection with a fake land lease case.
Currently, Sagar is working as the Tehsildar of Raighar block in the district.
The suspension order has been communicated to the Nabarangpur Collector by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.
According to information, during his tenure as Additional Tehsildar in Jharigaon tehsil,Sagar issued a 64 decimal fake land lease to a woman Dhanmati Panka of Kusumi Mauza.
After the incident came to the fore, on the instructions of district Collector Kamal Lochan Mishra , the then Sub-Collector Prasanta Raut had investigated the matter and returned the said 64 decimal land to Government record and lodged a plaint in the Jharigaon police station against Sagar.
Later, collector Mishra suspended Junior Clerk Schidananda Rath who was in charge of the record keeper and Amin Devendra Besra.
