'Rahul visit a morale booster for partymen'

PCC president Prasad Harichandan on Saturday maintained that the State unit of the party has become more optimistic after the two-day successful tour of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi to the State.

“The two-day visit of Rahul Gandhi was a total success. Party workers and people were very much inspired with the Gandhi scion’s visit which began in Baragarh with the Chasi Banchao Padayattra on September 10 to attract the Government’s attention towards farmers’ plight,” Harichandan told mediapersons here.

Harichandan said the party would now continue its fight in a focused manner to expose the BJD’s inept regime.

When asked about the party’s stand on the State Government’s decision to abolish the Odisha Administrative Tribunal (OAT) leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra, who was present on the occasion, suggested the Government to set up a special circuit bench of High Court in Bhubaneswar.

“The SAT should be substituted by setting up of a special circuit bench to deal with the complaints of Government employees,” said Mishra.

Notably on Friday, the BJP had slammed the Government for its decision to abolish the OAT.
