After coming under criticism by own party State leaders for not deputing any AICC Central leaders to convey condolence to the family members of deceased lalatendu (lulu) Bidyadhar Mohapatra, AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday phoned to Mohapatra’s daughter and conveyed his deep grief.
Sources said Gandhi phoned Mohapatra’s only child, daughter Upasana and expressed shock and deep sorrow over the passing away of the leader and said he and the party stood with her in this moment of loss.
Barring a tweet, the Congress high command even did not ask party Odisha in-charge to visit the bereaved family.
Many senior leaders, like MlAs Tara Prasad Bahinipati and Jogesh Singh expressed their displeasures over the high commands behaviour.
