Rahul must continue as Cong prez: FPI

Published on:

The Freethought Party of India (FPI) has said Rahul Gandhi should stay on as the president of the Congress and act firmly as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. It is he who can alone take on PM Modi and his Government and save all the high principles of good life as enshrined in the Constitution of India, it said.

Rahul should stand tall and stay unperturbed in the face of unfair criticisms mounted against him by “bought-over” TV channels. Rather, he should do his job of serving the Indian nation  fearlessly and he must demand that Indian Parliamentary democracy should be modelled on the politico-electoral principles of German Parliamentary democracy, told an FPI release.

Rahul’s description of Modi as ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ has been accepted by 12.3 crore of Indian voters. This itself is a huge number. Rahul has a huge responsibility on his shoulders. It is he who can check the authoritarian attitude of Modi.

Besides, Mamata Banarjee of West Bengal and Mayawati of BSP in UP will not be considered at all as alternatives leaders to Modi because they are State-centric and can never be effective as Prime Minister, the release said.
